They ask you, [O Muhammad], what has been made lawful for them. Say, “Lawful for you are [all] good foods and [game caught by] what you have trained of hunting animals (Including Dogs) which you train as Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah upon it, and fear Allah .” Indeed, Allah is swift in account. (Quran 5:4)

    1. Dear Marie, no you cannot adopt! a dog. As per the teaching, yes you may keep one to train it for hunting purposes.
Anything apart from that i.e. what ppl do or say (muslim or non-muslim alike) are their own wishes and accord
      .

  1. I have dogs as pets and I used my golden retriever for hunting. The maremma italian farm dog looks after my sheep and goat. If we listen to Allah and His Messenger in the Book of Allah, we will be successful.
3:9 “Our Lord! thou art He that will gather mankind together against a day about which there is no doubt, for Allah never fails in His promise.

  2. Most of the Muslim scholars, makes a negative remark on the dog that we should not own one at home, of which is surat kahf the dog became security to those Muslims of Jesus christ

Why are we making it haram to have dogs for security in our homes when Allah himself didn’t make a negative remark on it.
